General Manager - Country Pub with Rooms, Cumbria
£50,000 per year | Full-time | 5 days out of 7 | Straight shifts ( no live in )
Are you ready for your next challenge? We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on General Manager to take the reins at a charming country pub with rooms nestled in the heart of Cumbria. This is the kind of place that locals love, walkers rest up, and dog owners find a warm welcome. If you know how to keep the pints flowing and the atmosphere friendly, you might just be the person we need.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role, so if you love being at the heart of the action, you’ll thrive here. Here`s what you can expect day-to-day:
Leading the team to deliver top-notch service with a smile.
Managing the day-to-day operations to keep everything running smoothly.
Closing the bar on two nights a week when the Bar Manager’s off.
Keeping the family-owned ethos alive - it’s a father & son operation, so a touch of that personal charm goes a long way.
Creating a welcoming space for a walking and dog-friendly clientele - we’re all about those muddy boots and wagging tails.
What We’re Looking For
If you’ve got the following, we’d love to hear from you:
Previous experience managing a pub or similar hospitality venue.
A strong hands-on approach - you need to be present, not just managing from the sidelines.
A knack for building rapport with customers and leading a team.
The ability to work 5 days out of 7 on straight shifts - your rota will vary with some weekends included.
